PC Performance can be
improved in several ways. Here we identify cost / performance. |
Memory
– Probably the best performance / cost improvement you can do. Different operating
systems will improve as different amounts of memory are installed. |
Processor – The second best improvement in cost / performance.
Depending upon the PC manufacturer, the faster the processor you can install the better the system will perform. Although most name brand PC manufacturers build in obsolescence. Most PC clones will be able to handle a processor upgrade. |
Hard Drive – The third best system improvement you can do.
Older hard drives came with very small hard drive caches. The newer, larger cache will buffer reads and writes to the hard drive and improve system performance. |
Motherboard – The least likely system improvement that can be done. All system components plug into the motherboard (hard drive, memory, processor, video, sound) |
